The First Weekend In September Is Here

The First Weekend In September Is Here

Looking for ways to make the most of your weekend in the Triangle? Each week, we’re sharing three standout picks, whether it’s an event to enjoy, a spot to explore, or a local gem worth visiting. Here’s what’s on our radar for this weekend:

Movie In The Park: Inside Out 2 | Cary

Come early to enjoy pre-screening activities for all ages. Kids can create their own colorful “sense of self” with sand art and test their skills at the Slap Shot Booth with the Carolina Hurricanes. It’s the perfect mix of creativity and action before the movie begins! Prescreening activities are from 6 – 7:30 p.m. in Park St Arena, with the film will beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Grab your cushions, blankets, and chairs for ultimate comfort as you settle in to enjoy the film. Food trucks will also be on site. Get all the details here.

Oktoberfest | Durham

It’s time to whip out those lederhosen, raise a stein, and get ready to celebrate at the First Annual Durham Co-op Oktoberfest! Whether you go for the beer, the pretzels, or because you grocery shop on Saturdays, there’s something for everyone! RSVP in advance and receive a free pretzel!

Beer, Bacon, & Bluegrass | Fuquay Varina

Spend your Sunday at one of the Triangle’s favorite events: Beer, Bacon & Bluegrass at Oaklyn Springs Brewery. The taproom opens at 1 PM, with live music from Cosmic Creek Revival from 3–6 PM, a bacon bar loaded with crispy favorites, and plenty of craft beer pouring all day.

The best part? It’s free to attend, family-friendly, dog-friendly, and bacon-friendly. Head over to their Facebook page for all the details.

Events like this remind us why the Triangle is such a vibrant place to live. Gather your friends, bring the family, and savor the weekend together.
